The purpose of influencing the outcome of the April elections may also be the creation of companies created to support online campaigns by former prime minister Gordon Bajnai and former DK Minister of Secrets Ádám Ficsor, former chief of staff Ferenc Gyurcsány. Bajnai and his entourage could also influence the opposition primaries and even decide them through the data analysis and campaign consulting companies they founded with the former minister of the secret service.

In a series of articles, Index presents the activities of Gordon Bajnai and Ádám Ficsor's companies created to support online campaigns. In the first published paper on the subject entitled Bajnai Gordon's offshore miracle weapon could have decided the primary election"

  • how he collects data on the electorate with his former secret minister Bajnai,
  • how the Bajnai-Ficsor interest circle could influence the final result of the opposition primary election,
  • how can the Bajnaiés' company group registered in Estonia avoid the data management rules, and they also cover that
  • in what way the Bajnais can try to influence the results of the April elections

The paper recalls that already in January 2020, the press reported on the role that DatAdat Professional Kft., established by Ádám Ficsor in 2016 - of which Gordon Bajnai has been a part owner since 2017 - could have played in influencing the results of the 2019 municipal elections. In the recording obtained by Index, Ádám Ficsor himself admits that they helped the opposition win in some districts and in the mayoral election.

"We worked in 12 campaigns in that election, and 12 mayors won"

- the paper quotes Ádám Ficsor's words about the " big victory ". The former Minister of Secrets says that in the DatAdat group of companies they are building a system that " recognizes those voters who are willing to take a step closer to your campaign" , using 20-30 different tools for this, from newsletters to innovative elements that, for example, " give advice people to get their taxes back ."

In another recording obtained by the newspaper, the conversation between Patrick Frank, Datad.at's director of information, and Ficsor can be heard. Here, Frank describes in more detail the real scope of activities of the Vienna-based company. According to them, the company, which in principle deals with political consulting, is actually a branch company of domestic companies, which " satisfies the digital needs of progressive leaders, social movements and NGOs by offering its clients the latest technological tools, consulting and digital campaigns ".

In the recording, Ficsor mentions 12 countries where they work on campaigns, and from Frank's words

it also reveals how they influenced political processes - in the countries on the Balkan migration route, and how they contributed to the replacement of the right-wing grand coalition government there through the campaign of the German Greens

– highlights the Index in its article.

The paper's source, who knows the relationship between the data circle and the opposition well, also revealed that in the second round, instead of Gergely Karácsony, at Bajnai's request, Péter Márki-Zay became Klára Dobrev's opponent. capable - data-driven team helped to win. All this is supported by the fact that Bajnai, who supported Karácsony in the primary election, spectacularly lined up behind Márki-Zay. In the recording, Ádám Ficsor confirmed that they work for Péter Márki-Zay.

However, the real mission of DatAdat is to help the opposition in the 2022 parliamentary elections. According to Ádám Ficsor, "there will be 107 campaigns in Hungary: 106 local and one umbrella campaign". The DatAdat team participates in all of these, but they mainly focus on the swing districts.

There will be 20-30 districts that are truly – as we call them – »Battlefield States«, »Battlefield Districts«. We will work with these candidates, ensure that they win, and we will also work with the official campaign

Index quotes the former Minister of Secrets.
