The Transylvanian Hungarian People's Party called on Kelemen Hunor, president of RMDSZ, to take a stand, as they believe that Balkan-type political smoothness is unacceptable in Hungarian-Hungarian relations.
The national presidency of the smaller Transylvanian Hungarian party, the Transylvanian Hungarian People's Party (EMNP), formulated its position regarding the opposition prime minister candidate's visit to Transylvania on Tuesday and Wednesday. The EMNP referred to Péter Márki-Zay as the Trojan horse of Ferenc Gyurcsány's efforts to gain power, and stated: "we do not ask for his lies, nor for his false flattery aimed at Hungarians across the border, nor from those who are actually behind him".
According to the EMNP presidency, before the parliamentary elections in Hungary, the Transylvanian "comrades" of the Hungarian left became active, Péter Márki-Zay was received in Marosvásárhely by the "extremely liberal" theater director Attila Gáspárik and former RMDSZ president Béla Markó.
The EMNP called on Kelemen Hunor to make a statement. "Is he a committed supporter of the peaceful reunification process of the nation across borders, or is Béla Markó expressing the true and secret opinion of the RMDSZ when he constantly speaks in support of the left-liberal side in Hungary?" he asked the question. In relation to the "duplicitousness that also works in the direction of Budapest", the party stressed: "Balkan-type political smoothness is inadmissible in Hungarian-Hungarian relations".
At the same time, the EMNP stated: the vote and referendum on April 3 is not only about the election of the Parliament and the protection of our children, but also about the future of the entire Hungarian population in the Carpathian Basin, securing the national successes achieved so far, guaranteeing peace and guaranteeing sustainable development.
