State Secretary Miklós Soltész inaugurated a roadside cross in the village of Kálló in Nógrád County on Good Friday, the day of Jesus' crucifixion. Before the celebration, the so-called plehchrist was nailed to the wooden cross erected on the site of the cross that fell due to an accident in the fall.

The State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations said: the sight of nails and the sound of hammer blows remind us of the sad but real story of Good Friday more than two thousand years ago, of suffering but also of redemption.

The state secretary spoke about how many societies and philosophies of the 21st century try to deny suffering and the resurrection, but as he emphasized, everyone has a share in suffering. You can't escape from it, "but how we live it, how we process it, whether good and beautiful come from it, that's up to us".

Miklós Soltész also touched on the fact that over the past years, 400 crosses have been erected and renovated by national governments, forest farms have erected 21 crosses in honor of the Eucharistic Congress, and individuals, churches, and municipalities have joined together for this.

The Christian Democrat politician asked everyone to remember their predecessors and traditions when passing a roadside cross, and to say a prayer for their loved ones, the country's priests, the nation, and the settlements. If the many thousands of crosses can serve this, then it was worth it.

was carved by the local Baboss Csongor

Baboss Buda (Fidesz-KDNP) emphasized that during the war in Ukraine, they are asking Jesus Christ for peace as soon as possible, this is the primary message of the cross.

"We pray that Jesus will work a miracle in the hearts of the decision-makers and that this war will end as soon as possible. We also ask Jesus to accept all victims of war into his kingdom. Our request cannot be more important than peace these days, but one day all wars will end, cities will be rebuilt, flowers will grow on graves, and a generation will grow up that believes that our right to peace is a fundamental right," said the mayor of Kálló .

The cross was blessed by István László Udvardi and Richárd Nagy , and Sándor Nagy Menyhért
