What happened in the election? , Mandiner asks about the lessons of the election. Their next interviewee: Attila Nyerges, songwriter-singer of the Ismerős Arcok band.

How would you rate the results of the election?

I certainly did not fear that the left would return. But the fact that the victory will be of such a large proportion, if not surprising, filled me with great joy. I did not expect such a victory, I only dared to hope.

One day before the elections, their latest music video for the song "Budapest" came out, in which they criticized the current city administration and the leader of the left with barely veiled criticism. What did they say about the Budapest results?

Our intention with the video clip was to help turn the elections in the right direction as much as we could. The fact that there was such a result in the constituencies in the capital - well, now that it has been explained in many places since then, I already understand it, but when I first faced it, I was very ashamed. Although I no longer live in Budapest, I was born here, this is my hometown, and I will always be a Budapest resident to some extent. However, I can see that I have to slowly get used to the fact that we always have to be a little ashamed after seeing the results in Budapest. Although there are encouraging signs that maybe two years from now, when the municipal elections will be held, a lot will change.

Fidesz won by two-thirds, for the fourth time now - what is the most important from the point of view of national culture, or even from the point of view of Familiar Faces?

As far as we are concerned, on the one hand, it is very reassuring that we have had another four years when we can safely play concerts and not have to worry that Ismerős Arcok will be an unwelcome guest anywhere. Seeing the result, with this secure background behind us, we can safely continue our work even beyond the borders, and we can try to smooth out the inequalities that unfortunately still exist to this day.

Due to the repeated, large-scale victory, many people on the right also expressed the idea that, in the absence of a viable opposition, the governing parties themselves must exercise self-restraint, which will certainly be a big challenge. How do you see this question?

There is some truth to this, but I trust that our leaders are intelligent enough to maintain self-control. If not, we will be the ones to warn them.

Are you used to receiving criticism for taking such a clear stand in favor of the current government?

Of course it is, but it always has been and always will be. These waves subside relatively quickly, and you can notice that those who shook their fists at us recently are still at the concert in half a year.

If a person maintains his authenticity and does not change his opinion daily like his underwear, then what he stands for will also be authentic. Trusting in this, I have been walking this road for twenty-three years now.
