The sharp increase in the average salary was mainly contributed by the service allowance corresponding to six months' salary of the national defense and law enforcement professional staff, the so-called weapon money, as well as the wage increases already partially scheduled in advance, as well as the minimum wage and the guaranteed minimum wage increase.
The regular gross average earnings, calculated without premiums, bonuses, and one-month special benefits, were HUF 445,000, 14.5 percent higher than a year earlier.
Net average earnings without discounts increased by 31.7 percent to HUF 363,100. Taking discounts and tax and contribution exemptions into account, it reached HUF 374,800, 31.9 percent more than last February. The median value of gross earnings was HUF 378,100, which was 14.6 percent higher than a year earlier.
In the first two months of the year, the gross average earnings of those employed full-time - at enterprises employing at least 5 people, at budget institutions and at non-profit organizations significant from the point of view of employment - was HUF 506,700, excluding public employees, HUF 518,300.
The net average earnings without discounts reached HUF 337,000, and HUF 348,500 including discounts.
The gross and average net earnings calculated without discounts both increased by 22.8 percent, and the net earnings calculated with discounts by 23.4 percent compared to the previous year.
The average gross earnings of enterprises is 477,200, and in the budget 599,700, which represents an increase of 12.3 and 53.5 percent, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year.
