The parliamentary group of the Christian Democratic People's Party was formed on Tuesday, and István Simicskó was elected as its leader, announced Zsolt Semjén, president of the KDNP, at a press conference.

He emphasized: the representative group will have 18 members, one more than in the previous cycle, making it the second largest faction in the Parliament.

Zsolt Semjén said that all their former representatives who took on a role in the previous cycle will become representatives again. The new member of the faction is Béla Mihálffy.

When asked about the composition of the government, he said: After the visit to the Holy Father in Rome, they held an alliance meeting with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and reviewed the structure of the next cabinet.

Zsolt Semjén emphasized: the structure of the government must be designed in accordance with the challenges facing them and the ministers must be found in line with this. "The prime minister was satisfied with the KDNP's performance, and the KDNP can also be satisfied with their place in the next government," said Zsolt Semjén, indicating that further announcements naturally fall under Viktor Orbán's competence.
