The prime minister announced the developments related to price caps on his social media page after the government meeting. Both the price of fuel and the price of selected food products will remain unchanged until the first of July.

In a video uploaded to the social media page of the Prime Minister, he said that today's government meeting dealt with the issue of fuel prices and food prices.

"Prices are rising all over Europe, the primary reason for this is the war, and prices will continue to rise until the war ends," he emphasized.

Viktor Orbán put it this way: "However, we cannot watch this passively.

In Hungary, the government is doing everything it can to protect families from the consequences of price increases. That is why we also apply price restrictions and price caps for fuel and some basic foodstuffs."

He reminded that the price stops were about to expire, so they had to make a decision about them.

"We have decided to extend our price limiting measures in both cases until the first of July,

therefore, both the price of fuel and the price of selected food products will remain unchanged until the first of July. We will do everything we can to protect families," the Prime Minister concluded his announcement.
