Documents that expired during the state of emergency due to the coronavirus epidemic, including identity cards, driving licenses, passports and driving licenses, are valid for only two months, until June 30, the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for territorial administration announced on Facebook on Saturday.

István György explained that there are many situations in life where expired documents are an inconvenience, such as banking, receiving registered mail at the post office, exchanging certain medications at pharmacies, driving a car, traveling abroad, and purchasing public transport passes.

The state secretary asked everyone to renew their personal documents (identity card, driver's license, passport) expiring before May 31, 2022 as soon as possible in the government offices, while those whose technical license has expired should visit motor vehicle test stations.

Government windows at more than 300 locations in the country welcome customers even without making an appointment, he added.

He emphasized that the extension of the driver's license can be solved online and automatically through the Customer Portal, if you already have the medical fitness license, which can be obtained from the general practitioner.
