Katalin Lukácsi's letter has been leaked stating that she will not join Péter Márki-Zay's party to be formed, and even loosens ties with the Everyone's Hungary Movement and will not take part in the upcoming overhaul of the organization either. Until now, Lukácsi seemed to be one of the most loyal people of the left-wing prime minister candidate, who accompanied the politician to almost every campaign event.

Lukácsi's letter was published by Atv.hu. When contacted by the portal, Katalin Lukácsi confirmed that the letter was indeed written by her.

In it, among other things, he explains his decision by saying that he is serious about what he said earlier, that his time of reckoning has not yet ended, and therefore he cannot commit seriously.

Among the reasons, he also mentions that he does not feel that he can work together even with the current leadership of the Everyone's Hungary Movement and Kossuth Körök, because even during the campaign there was a serious strategic and conceptual difference between them. In his letter, Lukácsi complained, for example, about how László Tikk, MMM board member and Áron Tímár, operative leader, behaved towards the parties in political alliance with them, as well as the central campaign staff invited by Péter Márki-Zay. According to him, Ákos Gurzó, who was Péter Márki-Zay's campaign manager in the primary election campaign, only intensified this ever-deepening contrast.

Katalin Lukácsi considers it a mistake that Péter Márki-Zay is founding a new party just now, so soon after the heavy election defeat. According to him, the decision was rushed, and he sees no sign that the organizers of the new formation have learned any meaningful lessons from the result of April 3.

He also explains his decision by saying that although he thinks Péter Márki-Zay is a "good and decent person", he does not consider him a good leader. According to him, the former prime ministerial candidate of the opposition alliance can still become that, but for that he should step back from national politics for a while. According to Lukácsi, Márki-Zay should do a serious self-examination so that he doesn't either

"should be such a burden on Hungarian public life as Ferenc Gyurcsány".
