Serbia also wants to strengthen its energy security by using Hungarian gas reservoirs, stated Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who wants to use Hungarian experience in several economic measures.

Just as in our country, the food price cap was introduced in Serbia last year, so the Serbian government limited the price of basic foodstuffs in order to reduce inflation. As previously reported by our paper, the Serbian government also fixed the fuel prices for the next month on the Hungarian model. The objective of the Serbian cabinet is to preserve the standard of living of the people, therefore it was necessary to freeze fuel prices.

Viktor Orbán , the Serbian president stated: they are thinking about building smaller nuclear power plants, which can be used to ensure the energy supply, Kurir.rs wrote. According to Aleksandar Vucic, huge investments will be needed in the near future to create the foundations of a solid energy industry. They are thinking about power plants consisting of modules that can also operate independently, since according to the Serbian president, these are capable of providing enough electricity for the country at any time, not to mention the fact that the residents of Serbia will not be dependent on anyone.

Aleksandar Vucic also pointed out that it is of great importance that we have a friend like Hungary, which allows a part of Serbia's gas reserves to be stored there. "There are currently 162 million cubic meters of Serbian gas in our country, and 123 million cubic meters in Russia. Our daily consumption is five million cubic meters, but in winter it is fifteen million. That is why it is important to have another place where we can store the gas," explained the Serbian head of state, then added: "there are already plans to build a storage facility in Serbia." According to him, he turned to Hungary with a request to be able to store 300 and 500 million cubic meters of gas in Hungarian storage facilities, because in this way the country will be safe even in the event of a possible gas shutdown.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Russian President Vladimir Putin are discussing the price of natural gas, the amount of imports, and security of supply this week . As a guest of the Serbian Pink television, the Serbian head of state said that this conversation will take place on Thursday or Friday, and for Serbia, the amount of gas coming from Russia and the price will be a key issue. Aleksandar Vucic also spoke about the issue of rising electricity prices, which most affects citizens. He said: an increase in the price of electricity is inevitable, but it will not happen overnight.
