At least four American-controlled biolaboratories operate in Nigeria, where the West African strain of the monkeypox pathogen that spreads worldwide originates, and therefore Russia is calling on the leadership of the World Health Organization (WHO) to investigate their operation, Igor Kirillov, head of the Russian Armed Forces' radiation and chemical - and the commander of his biological defense teams, speaking in front of the cameras on Friday.

According to the general, there are two US controlled bio-laboratories in Abuja and one each in Zaria and Lagos. “In light of the numerous US violations of biosecurity requirements and irresponsible storage of pathogenic biomaterials, we call on the leadership of the World Health Organization to investigate the US-funded Nigerian laboratories in Abuja, Zaria and Lagos and inform the world public opinion on the results," he said.

Kirillov claimed that during the invasion of Ukraine, American training materials on emergency response to smallpox outbreaks were found in Ukrainian biolabs.

He voiced his suspicion that the Pentagon's interest in this infection is not accidental, because the return of the smallpox pathogen could cause a global catastrophe.

He pointed out that the US Department of Defense developed a smallpox vaccination program in 2003 that is mandatory for soldiers, diplomats and health workers. This, he said, indicates that the United States considers the smallpox virus to be a "priority pathogenic biological agent for combat use, and the current vaccination activity is aimed at protecting its own military contingents."

He called it a strange coincidence that requires expert verification, according to European and American media reports

at last year's Munich security conference, in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, a scenario for fighting an epidemic caused by a new strain of the monkeypox virus was put on the agenda.

With Sándor Weöres, we can say:

"Terrible monkey face, monkey soldiers are cutting, monkey gun in monkey hand, the world belongs to monkeys."

And he didn't even know about monkeypox!
