According to data provided exclusively to Axios by NewsWhip,

Zelensky told Axios' Jonathan Swan last week that global attention was key for Ukraine, but he worried that people would "get full" and become "cynical" and "want something new."

As attention wanes, so will the pressure on world leaders to help Ukraine and punish Russia.

"I say to the people of the United States, don't get used to this war. … Otherwise we risk a never-ending war … Do not get used to our pain”.

Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska told ABC News.

Between the first week of the war and the last week, the number of social media interactions (likes, comments, shares) related to news about Ukraine decreased by more than twenty:

From 109 million to 4.8 million.

This trend is also reflected in the amount of coverage in the online media, which decreased from 520,000 articles in the first week to 70,000.

During the 6 weeks of April and May, according to NewsWhip data, stories about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard received about 6 times more interest than stories about Ukraine.
