The Ukrainians demand a complete embargo on the most important products of Russian exports.

On Sunday, the Ukrainian parliament adopted a statement on the country's accession to the European Union, according to Korrespondent.net, the representatives present voted unanimously. In the statement, the Ukrainians ask the individual EU member states to support the granting of the country's candidate status.

Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, announced on Friday : the board recommends to the council bringing together the governments of the member states to give Ukraine a European perspective and candidate status, on the condition that the country implements a number of important reforms.

In the statement adopted by the Ukrainian parliament on Sunday, the representatives request/demand the following from the member states and EU institutions:

  • support Ukraine's aspirations regarding the country's European perspectives;
  • pay special attention to the safety of food supply, take appropriate measures to end the blockade of Ukrainian ports;
  • identify and punish those responsible for war crimes;
  • increase arms shipments to Ukraine;
  • create and adopt the seventh sanctions package, increase pressure on Russia and Belarus, with particular attention to a full embargo on the most important products of Russian exports;
  • ban Russian ships from entering EU ports.
