Europe is facing serious economic challenges due to the war and sanctions, it seems that the wartime inflationary environment will last, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday.

In his post, Péter Szijjártó said: in this situation, increasing the tax burden on production companies would further damage Europe's competitiveness and put tens of thousands of jobs at risk.

"That is why we oppose the introduction of the global minimum tax in Europe, and in addition, it would result in one of the biggest tax increases in Hungary. We have been continuously reducing the tax burden on work and businesses for twelve years, and we do not want to change this direction," he added.

He reminded that: on Friday, the Minister of Finance of France stated that there is some other type of case behind the Hungarian opposition.

The foreign minister rejected the assumption, "we don't usually mix up things that don't fit". We respectfully ask our French friends not to do it either. We will continue to say no to the tax increase - Péter Szijjártó concluded the post.
