The Ukrainian president philosophized in Lugano.

"Ukraine's reconstruction is a shared task for the entire democratic world," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday as the country outlined its $750 billion recovery plan, Index reports following the Independent. The reconstruction of Ukraine is not a local project, not the project of one nation, but the common task of the entire democratic world - of all countries that can call themselves civilized, Zelensky said online in front of hundreds of participants at the conference on the restoration of Ukraine held in Lugano.

"The restoration of Ukraine means the restoration of the principles of life, the restoration of the space of life, the restoration of everything that makes a person human"

said the Ukrainian president. He emphasized that since the end of the Cold War, Ukraine's needs have been moving towards democracy with varying degrees of success, and now the country is facing widespread destruction. Meanwhile, the British foreign secretary said such a restoration would require a sort of "Marshall Plan" for Ukraine's reconstruction efforts, Index reports.
