Funds for all forms of family support have increased in next year's budget adopted by the parliament on Tuesday, the state secretary responsible for families of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation told Kossuth radio Good morning, Hungary! in his show on Wednesday.

Ágnes Hornung said that next year's budget will also be a budget for families, as next year the government will spend HUF 3,225 billion on families with children, which is HUF 447 billion more than this year's spending.

He added: the various forms of family support can be used in the future.

As an example, he said that the budget for family support services - daycare, kindergarten, catering, camping - will increase by 15 percent to 566 billion forints, the funds for housing subsidies will increase by 28 percent, and cash benefits will increase by 19 percent next year, but the budget for the Women 40 program will also increase by 12 percent. rise.

Ágnes Hornung emphasized that the government's goal is to ensure that Hungarian families remain safe in the situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic and the war.

One of the main goals is to be able to provide families with a predictable environment from the birth of a child to retirement, he added.

The state secretary pointed out that the cabinet continues to pay special attention to the preservation of jobs, and the family support system has many elements that help women return to work.

Ágnes Hornung also spoke about the fact that the government fulfilled its legal obligation to preserve the purchase value of pensions, the pension increase took place at the beginning of the year and, if necessary, the pension adjustment at the end of the year will also be implemented. In addition, the price cap, utility reduction and utility protection fund ensure that the elderly are as safe as possible, he said.
