The sociologist was convinced by Orbán's stand against racism in Vienna, in his latest letter he writes: "I am proud of you", "you can count on my help in the future, as in the past 20 years".
Viktor Orbán visited Vienna, and at the joint press conference with Karl Nehamer, he also touched on his speech in Tusvány, in this regard he said:
"The fact that I sometimes phrase things in an ambiguous way happens. But I asked the Chancellor to be kind enough to put all related information into a cultural context, because in Hungary these expressions and sentences and the position I represent is a cultural, civilizational position. I would like to repeat that I am proud of the results that Hungary has achieved against racism in recent years".
Zsuzsa Hegedűs responded to the words of the Hungarian Prime Minister in a new letter, which is published in its entirety:
"Dear Viktor! I just read your statement in Vienna today, with which you publicly distanced yourself from the incriminating sentences "I don't know how" in the text.
Nothing could have given me more joy than this, because, as I described to you yesterday and said everywhere, in 20 years I never had the impression that any kind of discrimination or ethnic prejudice could cross your mind.
As a result of our 20 years of acquaintance and friendship, I also know what this public correction has cost you, so I appreciate your step today even more than the topic itself justifies. So much so that my first reaction was that with this public statement, my resignation became pointless. But what is more important, after some thought, I still think so a few hours later, i.e. I consider it pointless.
Of course, I will say this in public, already tonight (Thursday - ed.), namely the ATV Egyenes beszéd c. in his show.
Likewise in the international press. It gives me the greatest pleasure to be able to say again for your stand today, because I still feel it: I am proud of you.
So, just like before 2010 and of course after, regardless of whether I am officially your chief advisor or not, you can count on my help in the future, just like in the last 20 years.
With love: Zsuzsa"
Zsuzsa Hegedüs explained in the Thursday evening program of :
"he is proud of what Orbán said in Vienna", and added that he thought Orbán backtracked there. According to him, it is also rare in the international arena for a prime minister to stand up and correct his sentence, which is "mischievous".
