The UN High Commissioner for Refugees has developed a regional refugee action plan for the tasks related to refugee care during the Russian-Ukrainian war. Among the countries participating in the aid, Hungary receives only six percent of the amount spent on the plan, and a significant part of the support goes to organizations connected to György Soros, reports Magyar Nemzet.

Non-governmental organizations directly or indirectly financed by the Open Society Foundations (OSF) linked to the name of György Soros received a significant part of the amount awarded to Hungary in the regional refugee action plan from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). All of this was revealed in the information provided by the UNHCR.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees reported to Hungary in mid-March 2022, almost a month after the outbreak of the war.

In the plan they developed, a total of 1.85 billion dollars, i.e. almost 750 billion forints, was earmarked for the tasks related to refugee care for the countries participating in the assistance. Of this, the support to Hungary is 105 million dollars, or about 41-42 billion forints, which is less than six percent of the total amount. Considering the work done and the number of refugees arriving, this amount is seriously underestimated.

According to the plan, the six large charitable organizations (organizations of the Charitable Council) could receive 24 percent of the amount going to Hungary. Organizations predominantly associated with George Soros would receive an additional ten percent, while the organizations of the UN, which suddenly arrived here, would receive 66 percent, about seventy million dollars.

Simon Ernő, UNHCR's spokesperson in Hungary, informed the newspaper that three of the six members of the Charitable Council had already signed a partnership agreement on cooperation, while the Ecumenical Aid Organization and the Catholic Charity decided not to take advantage of UNHCR's offer.

It should be noted that although the six large charitable organizations carried out and are carrying out the most significant part of the work jointly with the Hungarian government, the plan did not foresee any direct support for the expenses of government assistance and measures at all.

Together with the above four aid organizations, UNHCR is currently supporting a total of 14 organizations in Hungary related to the refugee crisis in Ukraine. These organizations are Migration Aid, Menedék Egyesület, Next Step Magyarország Egyesület, Cordelia Foundation, Hungarian Helsinki Committee, Mandák Mária Evangélikus Yülekezeti House, Nők a Nőkért Együtt the Association Against Violence (NANE), From the Street to the Apartment Association, the Romaversitas Foundation, and the Hungarian Terre des Hommes Foundation (the agreement with the latter has not yet been signed, but is expected to happen soon).

Many of the organizations supported by UNHCR are directly or indirectly supported by the Open Society Foundations associated with György Soros.
