For the 19th time, the Tata City Municipality launched the Talent Nurturing Art Camp, in which young people from Tata and the Hungarians of the Carpathian homeland create for a week. As in the past years, alongside the Tata participants, 6 talented young people from the city's sister settlements arrived, who spend a week together in the sister city of the common motherland and excel in the practice of the arts.

Those who came from Szőgyén, Szováta and Magyarkanizsa and the young people from Tata work in two sections in the Bláthy Ottó College and the Kőfaragó ház in Fazekas Street, in the field of fine arts and crafts. Their hosts also provide them with a number of joint programs during the week.

At the ceremonial opening, on August 1, Mayor József Michl greeted the 28 young people, the art teachers leading the sessions and the accompanying groups.

In his greeting, the mayor emphasized that the purpose of the camp is not only to embrace young people with skillful hands and receptive to the arts, but that being together strengthens the participants' sense of national identity and a sense of belonging.

He recommended to their attention the series of programs announced on the occasion of Jakab Fellner's commemorative year, which is a worthy adornment of the city even from the perspective of three hundred years, and the traces of the master's work are still echoed by observers who enjoy the beauty of the city.

"Thank you to the mayors and staff of Szőgyén, Szováta and Magyarkanizsa, as well as to Zsuzsanna Osgyáni, for doing everything in the interest of our young people being able to create together again this year, with which they strengthen our existing relationships." József Michl emphasized.

Zsuzsanna Osgyáni, the dreamer and all-time organizer of the camp, the municipal employee responsible for external relations, said that many talented young people have participated in the camp in recent years and legendary friendships have been born, which are still nurtured by the former camp residents, crossing borders. Zsolt Deák, a former eight-time Sovata camper, has a photo exhibition about nature in Tata, and he cordially invited the participants of the artist camp to its opening in the evening. The photo exhibition fits exactly into the programs of the camp, as the central theme of this year's artist camp is "Nature".

The charm of the camp has lost none of its luster over the past years. Next year, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary, perhaps some of the legendary people who have been returning for many years will visit the artist camp again to recall the joy of joint creations and friendships together.

Now, however, the work begins, which is fun, learning, getting to know each other and strengthening in the knowledge that, although separated from each other, they belong to one - a common nation and a common mother tongue bind the campers together. Thus, the talented young people from different areas of historical Hungary enjoy the careful love of the Tata hosts.
