Supporter decisions are being made one after the other on the record number of applications received in the first phase of the residential solar tender, the first 500 beneficiaries have already received the notification and supporting documents are continuously arriving to the winning applicants, which are expected to be received by everyone during the autumn at the latest. The tender support with a framework amount of more than HUF 200 billion can help tens of thousands of families below the average income to further reduce utility costs, announced Attila Steiner, the State Secretary responsible for energy at the Ministry of Technology and Industry (TIM).

He emphasized that the government's aim is to further strengthen the energy security of Hungarian households and to contribute to the achievement of climate protection objectives by supporting the spread of residential solar panels.

With the help of the public tender launched last December, households can replace their polluting heating systems with modern and environmentally friendly solutions based on renewable energy sources, so families can generate cheap electricity themselves. The tender forms part of Hungary's Recovery and Resilience Plan, the government pre-finances investments that increase the energy efficiency of Hungarian families from the domestic budget until the Plan is accepted by the European Commission.

According to the announcement, the tender was accompanied by unprecedented interest, more than 43,000 applications were received, therefore, by increasing the first phase, it was made possible for everyone who is entitled to the subsidy based on their submitted application to receive a subsidy, and in the case of a successful application, applicants can receive up to 2 .9 million forints, and in the case of an energy-saving heating system, they can receive up to 11.3 million forints.

In the coming weeks, the supporting documents will be sent to the winners so that the affected families can start construction as soon as possible and significantly reduce their utility costs through the investments, the state secretary added. He emphasized that, in addition to the solar tender, other forms of support are available for families to help modernize their homes and reduce their utility bills, including the Home Creation Grant and the Home Renovation Loan.
