The Hungarian Turan Association is organizing the Kurultaj for the seventh time this year on August 12-13-14 in Bugac. At this Hungarian Tribal Assembly, the Archery World Cup will take place for the first time. Sándor Lezsák, the vice-president of the Parliament, the region's parliamentary representative, the head of the Lakitelek Folk College, the president of the National Forum, the chief patron of the Kurultaj and the Day of the Ancestors, Zsolt András Bíró, anthropologist, human biologist, the Hungarian-Turán Nonprofit, informed the press about this and many other important details. Foundation president, main organizer of the Kurultaj, László Szabó, mayor of Bugac and media coordinator László Nagy.

The largest meeting of peoples with a Hun-Turkish consciousness - due to the pause caused by the epidemic, is being preceded by even more anticipation and organization than before. Delegations from 27 nations will participate in the event, which, as Sándor Lezsák said, begins on August 11 with Kyrgyz Day. (Due to traffic difficulties, the Kyrgyz ambassador also arrived a little late at the press conference.)

The Vice President of the National Assembly last visited Kyrgyzstan in June at the parliamentary assembly of the Association of Turanian States, representing Speaker László Kövér, so he reported on the strengthening diplomatic, economic and cultural relations based on his personal experience. Two books and an upcoming third also contribute to the latter.

On the opening day, on August 12, 250 guests will be welcomed in the Parliament, and the evening celebratory dinner in Bugac will be prepared for 300 people by the hospitable population of the settlement - from their own resources, stressed Mayor László Szabó, because for Bugac, the Kurultaj is synonymous with the holiday and shared traditions.

Although we mainly think of the peoples who have a Hun-Turk consciousness from far away, the Kurultaj is also attended by people living in the Carpathian Basin. So far, Transylvania and the Southern Region have presented themselves at the Day of the Ancestors events, but the Uplands are also preparing for the next one, just as everyone is already involved in the preparatory work.

More than a hundred Hungarian tradition-preserving groups implement this common holiday, which was given detailed information by chief organizer Zsolt András Bíró.

The ceremonial opening with the army review and the great nomad procession will take place on Saturday, August 13, with a speech by speaker László Kövér. The event includes fifty independent program elements, which include the war games on the battlefield, equestrian competitions, costumes and weaponry from the time of the Hun, Avar and conquest, as well as the exhibition in Attila's tent. The 26 m diameter yurt hosts scientific lectures, among which Zsolt András Bíró, as an anthropologist, drew attention to the year's largest international forum dealing with Hungarian prehistory.

A separate stage is available for folk music and folk dance performances, vocal ensembles, and of course – as in previous years – artisans from the Carpathian Basin and related peoples will also present themselves.

What is different from the previous ones,

there are many high-ranking guests of this year's Kurultaj, including ministers, deputy ministers, such as Baghdad Amreyev, the president of the Organization of Turkic States, or Necmettin Bilal Erdogan, the president of the World Ethnosport Federation, so some strictures are necessary for security reasons, for example, the entry of certain items is limited to the territory of the Kurultaj will be

Detailed information about all of this, but especially about the program, can be found on the www.kurultaj.hu website and in the organizers' summary HERE.

As an interesting fact, it is worth mentioning that the majority of the organizers consist of traditionalists and volunteers recruited from all parts of the Carpathian basin, mainly from Bugac. Professional paid staff are employed to secure the event and provide the infrastructure.

The vision of the Kurultaj is summarized by its founders as follows: strengthening the unity and kinship of nations with a steppe horse nomadic past, the cultural reunification of the Hungarians of the Carpathian Basin, the strengthening of belonging and national unity along the lines of Hungarian traditions, the education and training of youth through patriotic and sports activities.
