The Street of Hungarian Flavors will be organized again this year on the Várkert wharf in the capital between August 19 and 21. 12th time, the largest Hungarian gastronomic festival for visitors to taste everything that stimulates the eyes and mouth.
This year, grain became the gastronomic leitmotif of the event, so the highlighted products will be dishes made from it. In addition, they are constantly looking for ingredients, flavors, artisan products and curiosities, such as the flavors of Hungarian fruits, artisan breads, pies and cakes, honeys, sausages, smoked meats and tasty vegetable preparations. Men and women cooks presenting the curiosities of different regions also come from the annexed areas beyond the border.
Of course, in addition to the affordable festive Borsodi beer, there will also be unique products from many craft breweries available. Visitors can quench their thirst with the offer of the Refreshing and Intoxicating tents, where they measure spritzes and syrups, but eight or ten types of Hungarian craft beer, millet beer, beer spirits, delicious fruit wines, honey wine, herbal teas and some typical Hungarian pálinka are also waiting to be drunk. New this year is the Garden of Artisan Cosmetics, where some ointments are presented, which are made by hand from Hungarian ingredients.
Special attention is also paid to families in accordance with tradition. The children are waiting for the performances of numerous excellent puppet companies, storytellers, craftspeople and, on the opening day, a concert by Judit Halász. Those interested can also see presentations and gastro discussions on stage, and in the evenings, colorful concerts with famous performers such as György Ferenczy and the 1-ső Pesti Rackák, the Hot Jazz Band, and the Csík band set the mood.
