The flawed EU sanctions policy clearly endangers the energy security of the European population, so continuous restrictions and further transfers can be expected, said jr. Constitutional lawyer Zoltán Lomnici in an interview with Origo. The legal expert of the Századvég Foundation noted that Europe is practically rushing to its own destruction.

- Minister of Green Economy and Climate Protection Robert Habeck, who is also Vice-Chancellor, advises Germans that if they cannot pay their bills, they should not take a shower for more than 5 minutes, while he receives a monthly salary of 25,000 euros (more than HUF 10 million), precisely that German thanks to taxpayers, who, in his opinion, should save. How credible do you think these requests are?

- The uncertain war situation naturally causes uncertainty and unpredictability in many sectors - especially in the energy industry. Robert Habeck, Minister of Green Economy and Climate Protection, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of Germany, encourages people to wash and heat less, and also points out that it is advisable to avoid air conditioning. According to his opinion, in these difficult times, it is necessary to show who stands by his country, who carries his country in his own heart, and who actually wants to help others. These driving forces were emphasized by the minister in order to motivate people to adapt to the vulnerable situation. According to the minister's point of view, it is an "external shock, the burden of which must be borne", so he appealed to the citizens' solidarity and explained that saving energy is a kind of civic duty. He says that he himself is setting a good example: he follows the recommendations that the ministry has suggested, he has reduced the time he takes in the shower, he takes a quick bath. In summer, he doesn't really like being in air-conditioned rooms, and in winter he heats sparingly. The minister's words may cause some confusion, as he says that he heats sparingly in winter, but he claims that there is no need to heat at all in winter. While in Germany the Minister of Economy and Climate Protection apostrophizes energy conservation as a moral duty based on solidarity, and sharpens his rhetoric to motivate and soften people's emotions, the Hungarian government has announced a seven-point action plan to protect the energy supply of the Hungarian population and economy.

– The German government will also impose a gas tax from October, which households must pay until the end of March 2024. What do you think will happen in Western Europe in the coming period?

- The German government's decision to impose a gas levy on consumers from October is done in order to ensure that no gas service provider becomes insolvent due to the increased purchase prices, i.e. as a result of the introduction of the measure, service providers will pass on the drastic increase in purchase prices to all gas consumers. Such a decision naturally leads to indignation at the public level, since the consumers' frustration and anger can be caused by the fact that they keep the companies' hunger for profit up with them. The flawed EU sanctions policy clearly endangers the energy security of the European population, so continuous restrictions and further transfers can be expected.
