The European Commission has broken the agreement on the Polish recovery plan, treating the issue as a political matter, Polish President Andrzej Duda said in a radio interview on Monday.
In a lengthy interview with the Polish commercial channel Radio Zet, Duda was also asked about whether Poland will be paid the amount due to it from the European Union fund intended for recovery after the coronavirus epidemic.
"This is a political problem, and today it is a matter of political games," the Polish president replied. He recalled: he negotiated one of the conditions for the disbursement of restoration funds, the restructuring of the disciplinary chamber of the Polish Supreme Court, himself in Brussels.
"As you can see, despite all (...) negotiations, our agreements were broken," he declared, calling the action of the representatives of the committee and other EU bodies "brutal politics".
In June, the committee, and then the Council of the European Union, approved the Polish recovery plan, which made it possible to draw down a EUR 23.9 billion non-refundable subsidy and a EUR 11.5 billion loan. The payment of this, on the other hand, is linked to the fulfillment of the necessary conditions - so-called milestones - included in the plan. However, the fulfillment of the first milestones is currently interpreted differently by Warsaw and Brussels.
According to press reports on Sunday, four European judges' organizations filed a complaint with the European Court of Justice over the Commission's approval of the Polish recovery plan.
According to the complaint, the milestones are insufficient in terms of the rule of law and do not ensure the protection of the court system.
Piotr Müller underlined to the PAP news agency: the decision of the EU bodies to approve the Polish recovery plan remains in effect, the complaint of the judicial organizations has no effect on it. The government has started the implementation of the projects included in the recovery plan through pre-financing , confirmed the spokesperson.
Mateusz Morawiecki underlined at the beginning of August: he views EU funds as a "unit", he is primarily interested in structural, cohesion funds and common agricultural policy instruments, because they "make up five times" the Polish recovery plan. However, he added: Poland "will not lose any money", and the disbursement of the recovery fund's assets is "only a matter of time".
2022plus: So now the Polish president also sees what he could have seen before: the EU globalists will kick the agreements without batting an eye if they like it. But for God's sake, haven't they done this before? Then it's no wonder.
