The foreign minister of the Netherlands attacked Hungary in an interview, said the state secretary responsible for bilateral relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in a video uploaded to his social media site on Tuesday. According to Tamás Menczer, however, it would be appropriate for Wopke Hoekstra to deal with Hungary if he managed to put things in order in his own country.

Tamás Menczer reminded: Wopke Hoekstra said "referring to the lies of the European Parliament" that he was very worried about the Hungarian rule of law. He talked about how the rule of law is in danger in Hungary, common values are in danger, and what is happening to the judiciary or the free press is terrible.

The Secretary of State indicated: regarding the state of the rule of law in the Netherlands, he found that more than 300 anti-Semitic crimes were committed in the country in 2019, 135 in 2020, and around two hundred in 2021. In the Netherlands, one should be happy that if anti-Semitic crimes are not committed every day, "only every other day", noted Tamás Menczer.

He pointed out: according to a survey by the Dutch Association of Journalists, 80 percent of journalists receive threats, which also shows a worsening trend, since a few years ago the proportion was only 60 percent. In addition, a lawyer was shot in the open street in the Netherlands because he was defending a crown witness in a drug case. After the incident, the president of the Dutch police union spoke about how the Netherlands had become a narco-state, he noted. He added that the criminal organization was linked to the murder of an investigative journalist.

Tamás Menczer also touched on the fact that the Secretary of State for Migration in the Netherlands had to resign because the government kept quiet about serious crimes committed by migrants, and the head of the administrative court is a former left-liberal politician. He also spoke about the fact that since 2012, the Dutch tax authority has falsely accused more than 26,000 Dutch parents of fraud and ordered about ten thousand families to repay tens of thousands of euros in child support. A Dutch report stated that the Dutch tax authorities violated the basic principles of the country and the general rule of law, he said.

Tamás Menczer said: seeing and knowing these facts , he is concerned about the state of the Dutch rule of law, and it would be expected that the European Parliament immediately convene an extraordinary meeting and prepare a report on the state of the Dutch rule of law. It would also be expected that the Dutch foreign minister would next deal with Hungary when order had finally been made in his own country, he added.
