István Tarlós also commented on Karácsony's idea that the Capital should practically levy a value-based tax. However, due to legal problems, Karácsony was only able to introduce it to Margaret Island. "Who will establish the values, which, moreover, can change all the time? The idea of being valued with the owner is unmanageable. It is not even certain that the owner can be forced to do a valuation. Many, many endless lawsuits could arise from this," Tarlós responded to the tax in an interview with Magyar Nemzet

Regarding the fact that the tax can only be levied on Margitsziget according to its current state, the former mayor asked the big question:

What will happen if only the capital imposes the tax, and only on Margitsziget?

Obviously, they want to levy it on the two hotels, unless the mayor wants to tax his own facilities as well. What will happen if one district expels him and the other does not? Novotel, for example, has hotels in several districts. Will you pay in one and not in the other? In this form, this tax obviously cannot stop at hotels. What will happen, for example, to office buildings, sports centers, some restaurants, entertainment centers, malls, and the cinemas in them? In many cases, the actual owner is very difficult or impossible to find out. In such a case, what should be done?"

He stated that "the current situation is difficult to interpret and it hardly seems possible to implement without serious conflicts - but also in general" .
