Countless artefacts must be protected with glass due to the frequent demonstrations of climate activists, and this entails an increase in the price of museum tickets, said the Italian Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano.

In a statement, the head of the ministry emphasized that " the senseless and baseless violence targeting our paintings, installations, works and buildings of our museums and collections requires immediate intervention ".

Gennaro Sangiuliano emphasized that the first step is to cover the major paintings with glass. He added that since it is a huge artistic heritage, the costs will also be significant, so it will be inevitable to increase the price of the entrance tickets. He noted that the "violent action of a few" affects Italians, especially those who like to go to exhibitions.

The first action of climate protesters in Italy was on July 22, when they demonstrated with banners in front of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, and then young people stuck themselves to Sandro Botticelli's painting Spring.

The Renaissance masterpiece was not damaged in any way because it is also protected by glass.

After that, a similar action took place in several Italian museums. Last week in Milan, the car on display with Andy Warhol's painting was covered in flour.
