In a video shared on his social media page, the Prime Minister clarified Hungary's position on financial assistance to the Ukrainians. At the beginning, he drew attention to the fact that Hungary had already indicated its position to the European Commission.

"We have said in advance that we support financial assistance to Ukraine, we consider it right and necessary." - he began to explain his position.

"We also indicated that Hungary will bear the financial burden of this. We're talking about 18 billion Euros next year, aren't we? The part that falls to Hungary has already been allocated by the Hungarian government in the budget, and we will give this money to the Ukrainians. We have already authorized the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss this matter. But we will not support any solution that takes the European Union further in the direction of the debt community. So we take on our share of the burden, but we don't want to do it through the Union, because we don't think it's a good direction for the Union if it becomes more and more in debt to itself and its member states towards the future in more and more cases."

- explained Viktor Orbán.
