János Áder, the former president of the Republic, sees an opportunity to receive the energy produced in household solar power plants, and among other things, he proposes the creation of energy communities for this purpose. The chairman of the board of trustees of the Kék Bolygó Climate Protection Foundation advocated the provision of domestic and EU subsidies to protect the quality of the earth.
János Áder, former president of the republic, chairman of the board of trustees of the Kék Bolygó Climate Protection Foundation, gives a lecture on sustainability in the framework of the subject "The Green University - for our environment together"
In an interview published on portfolio.hu on Monday, János Áder said in response to the question regarding the stoppage of the adoption of household solar power plants: at the moment, it is a very serious question how to adapt the existing network more efficiently to solar and wind energy, because in the past period every year, exceeding previous plans the capacity of solar power plants increased, and it is a problem for the current network to accommodate this. They are working, he added, on how to add this increased extra capacity to the existing network with a suitable software and smart technology, without or before expanding the network.
The former head of state explained: one solution is to create energy communities, and the other is to spread the use of the settlement system and smart meters. The biggest problem is that we cannot always use renewable energy when we have produced it. But because of this, another household in the community where we live may be able to use it. This can be solved technologically today - pointed out János Áder. He said that energy demand will increase all over the world, including in Hungary. This can be dealt with on the one hand with energy efficiency, but due to the growing demand for energy, basic power plants are needed, he said, adding that nuclear energy is unavoidable in Hungary.
Speaking about the attitude-shaping activities of the Blue Planet Foundation, he pointed out that they have textbooks on sustainability for kindergarten students and an educational program is being prepared for elementary school students, which is already available to high school students. He also talked about the start of a teacher training course on sustainability at Corvinus University in Budapest. Students in the field of water affairs can also apply for a scholarship at the foundation, they have a program to help start a company, and they have a capital fund to help businesses - mainly active in the fields of water, waste water and energy - explained János Áder.
