Guy Verhofstadt, a member of the European Parliament, came up with a new idea attacking Hungary, Mandiner reported after spotting the liberal Belgian politician's Twitter post. According to Verhofstadt, no matter how many times Hungary exercises its right of veto during EU decision-making, the amount of EU funds withheld from Hungary must be doubled, Magyar Nemzet reports.

"One veto: 5.8 billion euros. Two vetoes: 11.6 billion euros. Three vetoes: 23.2 billion euros," says Verhofstadt's post.
"We have always had disputes with European left-wing, liberal and green politicians because of their statements, but while we once considered them to be moderate public figures, they have now become maniacal political clowns," said Tamás Deutsch, a member of the European Parliament of Fidesz, to Magyar Nemzet. He added that, in his opinion, it is no coincidence that Verhofstadt has been attacking our country a lot recently: he wants to put pressure on the European Commission not to agree with the Hungarian government on the matter of withheld EU funds.
