According to György Hunvald, there is a suspicion that he sold the MSZP's property in Erzsébetváros through dishonest management

The MSZP, which accuses the government of being pro-Russian, sold one of its most valuable properties to a woman of Russian origin in downtown Budapest. According to the former mayor of Erzsébetváros György Hunvald, the price is far below, according to his point of view, at least one hundred and twenty million forints cheaper than the price in Pač. At the time of the purchase, the buyer, as a member of the MSZP national board, was interested in the same company as the lady of Russian origin, and through his membership of the MSZP board, it can be assumed that he had information about other purchase offers for the property. According to the stamp on the title deed, the Russian lady promised her one million forints, so she took the property on Nagykörút at the corner of Budapest Erzsébet körút-Dob utca for eighty-one million forints.

On social media, former dominant politicians of the MSZP, former mayor György Hunvald of Erzsébetváros and former deputy faction leader Zoltán Lukács, announced that on the last day of the presidency of the party leadership Bertalan Tóth, MSZP VII. sold the office of his district organization, a 196 square meter room. According to the post, it is well below the price, for 81 million forints, while real estate prices in this area of Budapest have already reached or exceeded one million forints per square meter. The purchase price for this property did not even reach four hundred thousand forints, even though the office is located on the corner of Erzsébet körút and Dob utca, and the party has renovated it twice in the past twenty years.

The fact of the sale caused a scandal even in the left-wing press, so Magyar Hírlap sent a letter to the co-presidents Imre Komjáthi and Ágnes Kunhalmi, and to the party director Zsolt Molnár, whether there was a tender, whether a valuation was carried out, who carried it out, what was the result, how many offers did you receive? They also inquired about how they imagine the party's re-strengthening, if the members are now serially selling the properties that form the basis of the party's life? Isn't this a scam of their membership and sympathizers?

In addition, the parliamentary parties received their properties partly free of charge from the state, and partly the preferential loans of the Hungarian Development Bank made it possible to acquire the properties serving as party offices. It follows that the taxpayer has the right to know what will be their fate, and if they are sold, at what price?

Perhaps the reader will not be surprised, but the leaders of the MSZP, which calls itself a democratic party, did not answer their questions. Just as they recently kept quiet about why they sold the three hundred square meter property in downtown Keszthely for 32 million forints, according to their sources, and why the party office in Siófok was also beaten earlier.

As we wrote, the party office in Zugló was bought by former member of parliament Csaba Tóth, the company of the local chairman of the MSZP, Tigris 1993 Kft., while Budapest XVI. In his district, Sashalmon, the local president, Ferenc Csizmazia, was also able to buy the local party office.

But let's return to Erzsébetváros. Former mayor György Hunvald (who has already left the MSZP) commented on the events as follows: "At the corner of Erzsébet körút and Dob utca, the real estate prices per square meter are on the lower end of more than HUF 1 million. This seems to be a misappropriation of at least 120 million. This fucking MSZP leadership, the Tóth-Kunhalmi couple, sold the VII. district office, must be moved out by December 19. Although I am no longer an MSZP member, in fact I have not identified with anything that this pig party leadership does for a long time, because it has nothing to do with leftism. But it is outrageous how the MSZP was abolished in a few years, which was built by the predecessors, for better or for worse. I hope this is the last few years of these people in politics.”

Karola Bakonyi, who was also the socialist mayor of the district between 1994-98, wrote: "Despite all my discipline, I protest! Also: who bought it and what does he want there? We are supposed to speak to the people. Where are we going?”

Faction leader Bertalan Tóth, who was still party chairman at the time of the sale, made a statement about the sale to the "friendly press", Hvg.hu, and shoved the following nanny story down the readers' throats. Even after the elections, the party presidency decided on the sale of fourteen properties, which had their liens removed and became unencumbered. (Incidentally, the affected property in Erzsébetváros had a lien of HUF 794 million previously, which can be a guide in terms of the property's market value - ed.) So already in May of this year, these properties were designated for sale, and a lawyer-real estate office was tasked with looking for a buyer. This is how they received an offer of eighty million forints, which was accepted by the board and the supervisory board. Immediately before the congress, however, a better offer was received in October, which was also accepted by the presidency, so everything was done regularly and legally.

This was said by Bertalan Tóth, who recorded the sale while still party chairman. If the presidency accepted it, so did Bence Eszik, the vice president of Societas, a member of the party's presidency at the time. However, as our newspaper found out, Eszik was previously interested in the same company, since for three months in 2021 he was the managing director of the company, Bublik Bakery Kft., whose owner, the lady of Russian origin, is the new, eighty-one million forint buyer made an offer.

Magyar Hírlap also contacted Benc Eszik about the case, but in view of his sore throat, he replied that due to his illness, he is currently unable and unable to comment. He asked for patience for a few days.
