Russian reaction:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Washington will not move the conflict in Ukraine towards the negotiation process, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

Dmitry Peskov objected to the fact that the United States continues to supply weapons to Ukraine and that more and more of them "All this will certainly lead to an aggravation of the conflict and does not bode well for Ukraine," the spokesman said. Peskov could not confirm the authenticity of the news that the two officers of the Ukrainian 80th Independent Parachute Assault Brigade, which executed Russian prisoners of war with Makiivka, had been captured.

The spokesman emphasized that the Russian Ministry of Defense will do everything in order to improve the situation in the Donetsk People's Republic. This is how Peskov reacted to the fact that the acting leader of the region annexed from Ukraine, Jenis Pusilin, met with President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Wednesday and urged the installation of more air defense equipment in the area.

Peskov announced that due to his busy schedule, Putin will no longer send messages to the two houses of the parliament this year, as required by the Russian constitution. He did not reveal the specific reason for this, and stated that the president did not consult the Constitutional Court in the matter, but at the same time reminded that similar slippage had already occurred before. The last such speech was made last April.
