German press report: the European Commission paid millions to the NGO involved in the Brussels corruption scandal.

According to the information of a German business weekly, the EU Commission has supported the non-governmental organization No Peace Without Justice involved in the corruption case with around six million euros since 2006, reports the international news agency V4NA. They still have a project for which they received money, but due to the scandal, the payment was suspended.

The European Commission has paid millions to the NGO No Peace without Justice involved in the corruption scandal of the European Parliament, reports WirtschaftsWoche.

The EU Commission confirmed to the German portal that

the NGO received about 2.7 million euros for two current projects in Libya, but due to the corruption scandal that broke out in December, the payment of 1.37 million euros was suspended.

Wiwo writes that since 2006, the EU Commission has supported seven other projects of the NGO with a total of around five million euros. The Italian Niccolò Figá-Talamancá is the director of the No Peace Without Justice organization, who was among the first to be arrested in connection with the scandal that erupted in December. One of the NGO's partner organizations is the American billionaire György Soros's foundation, the Open Society Institute. The head of the organization still claims to be innocent.
