Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavusoglu at the Carmelite monastery, who came to Budapest at the invitation of his Hungarian counterpart, Péter Szijjártó, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister's press chief, informed MTI on Tuesday.

During the meeting, they agreed to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Hungary and Turkey. Viktor Orbán said: Hungary is committed to the development of economic relations and will do everything to achieve the six billion dollar Hungarian-Turkish trade turnover.

According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, Europe cannot be stable and secure without the stability and security of Turkey. That is why the European Union should support Turkey in dealing with migration challenges, he said.

Viktor Orbán and Mevlüt Cavusoglu agreed that the international community should make efforts for an early, peaceful end to the Russian-Ukrainian war.
