Official help may even be needed to remove the concrete crosses illegally placed in the Úzvölgy military cemetery, after Romanian organizations announced that they would prevent the execution of the final judgment, the Székelyhon news portal reported on Monday. The head of the Nation's Way organization urges all nationalist organizations and priests of Orthodox monasteries to resist.

The Bákó District Court made a final judgment on Friday in the case regarding the construction permit for the concrete crosses in Úzvölgy. The decision of the second-instance court deemed the appeal of the city of Darmanesti (Dormánfalva) unfounded and approved the first-instance verdict, according to which the illegal concrete crosses and memorial to the Romanian soldiers must be removed.

Lawyer Anja Marginean Cosma, who represents the village of Csíkszentmárton in the case, told the news portal that the verdict must be carried out by the mayor's office of Darmanesti, Csíkszentmárton cannot do it for him, even though the cemetery is located on his territory.

"If the residents of Dormánfalvia do not demolish the illegal constructions ten days after the delivery of the reasons for the judgment, then Csíkszentmárton can initiate a new court procedure in order to be allowed to execute it, that is, to remove the constructions," Székelyhon quoted the lawyer as saying. The prefect's office of Bákó County, which joined the lawsuit, and the Hargita County Municipality, which is assisting Csíkszentmárton, can also request enforcement, in which case the actions will be combined, he added.

According to the lawyer, if they try to prevent the execution of the judgment by force, then official help will be needed, because a final court judgment must be enforced.

Mihai Tarnoveanu, the leader of the organization Nemzet Útja (Calea Neamului), which initiated the violent attack and dedication of the memorial in the Úzvölgy military cemetery in May 2019, indicated on his social media page that the concrete crosses and the memorial will be prevented from being removed.

"On the day of the execution of the court verdict, we will be present at the removal of the crosses, as we were there on Heroes' Day in 2019 and every year since then," Tarnoveanu wrote. He appealed to "all nationalist organizations", the priests of Orthodox monasteries, to gather around the crosses and protect them from demolition.

Csaba Borboly, the president of the Hargita county municipality, announced in a statement: they will continue the dialogue with the Bákó county municipality so that the fallen Romanian soldiers can be buried in a dignified place, "but the illegally built concrete crosses must disappear", he stated.
