Budapest's infrastructure is constantly being depreciated, which is not at all surprising in light of the budget figures: while there were previous years when the amount allocated for road and bridge renovations reached HUF 25 billion, this year we found only HUF 1.9 billion planned for the capital's budget, which is roughly half the amount , than the municipality led by Gergely Karácsony would spend on the renovation of the town hall - vg.hu wrote about this.

People driving cars in the capital city on a daily basis have a lot of annoyance, the potholed, cracked asphalt road surface or the decaying overpasses, in addition to not providing an aesthetic sight in terms of the cityscape, also significantly shorten the technical life of the cars - read on the vg.hu portal .

All of this is no coincidence, because the town hall spends less and less every year on road and bridge renovations: the previously available amount of around 20 billion forints is already a thing of the past, this year only 1.9 billion forints have been planned in the capital's budget under various titles, which, needless to say, , quite unworthy of a world city of 1.7 million.

It was already indicative when, last December, Mayor Gergely Karácsony's ally, Sándor Szaniszló, decided not to wait any longer for the capital, and that the 18th district would repair the Üllő road, which was otherwise managed by Budapest, from its own pocket. Sándor Szaniszló put it bluntly: "We will not receive a single piece of iron from the Metropolitan Municipality, everyone should know this, we have already bounced back from this many, many times."

In any case, money has been found for which, for example, HUF 3.6 billion will be allocated to the energetic modernization of the town hall this year. However, when the current city administration was elected, many people were confident that the maintenance of the infrastructure would be a priority, Deputy Mayor Kata Tüttő spoke in the fall of 2020 that the municipality should spend HUF 100 billion on the renovation of the bridges, and of course she did not forget to note that the an omission is the responsibility of István Tarlós, since Budapest "spent a tenth of the necessary amount on bridges and overpasses in the last nine years".

However, under the previous mayor, the capital spent much more on road renovation, there was hardly a year when at least HUF 20 billion was not allocated for this purpose, all while having to manage with a much smaller income than today.
