A promise is a nice word, if it is kept it is good: the salary increase for judges and prosecutors has been realized! - Minister of Justice Judit Varga began her Facebook post late yesterday afternoon - and then continued:
When I was appointed minister, I promised a comprehensive wage settlement, which, thanks to the well-performing Hungarian economy, took place by 2022.
As a result of the salary increase in three stages, a total wage increase of more than 60% took place in three years. The decision affects nearly 3,000 judges and 2,000 prosecutors, whose salaries have now increased to HUF 566,660.
- from January 1, an average salary increase of 32% for judges and 21% for prosecutors was realized, with which we brought their salaries to the same level. In 2021, their wages increased by 12% of the 2020 salary base, and by an additional 13% this year.
