Freedom, love - our entire story can be told in connection with this. This is what our songs, poems, novels, fights, dreams, and will to do are all about. In this spirit, Petőfi.hu reflects on the 200th anniversary of the birth of Sándor Petőfi: we follow the bicentenary events, offer new perspectives on this exceptional oeuvre, and show how Petőfi is present in our culture. It may even turn out that we all hid from Petőfi's cloak, says the Petőfi Literary Museum in its statement.

Time is true, / And decides what is not - writes our poet born two hundred years ago. It also applies to you. According to some, Petőfi's statue covers Sándor Petőfi, the poet, revolutionary, lover. We can't prop him up, but we can move his statue, so there is room for us to look behind the statue. This space would be Petőfi.hu. An opportunity for everyone to have a living Petőfi, says Demeter Szilárd, director general of the Petőfi Literary Museum.

According to the press release, on the Petőfi.hu interface, the movements and lines of force of the Petőfi universe are made perceptible daily in the Petőfi news feed: several cultural editors were asked to

think together for a year about what the poet's legacy means in our everyday lives, how the ideas of the reform era live on, follow how professionals think about these issues, as Petőfi's guests, popular speakers and well-known artists are asked about how they are connected to the freedom fighter poet, and they were asked to recommend a book, a song and a picture that for them carries the thoughts that can also be related to Petőfi.

A Petőfi calendar was put together: selected events from the poet's life were associated with poems, pictures, and sometimes contemporary reflections, and for two hundred days, on the anniversary of the given events, this specific bouquet is presented.

With informative articles, they present the context of the reform era, especially the few decades that Petőfi himself knew, and they assign aspects to all of this that make it possible to perceive how the ideals and aspirations of this era - but also its dilemmas - are present in today's in our lives.

They make the programs of the bicentenary clear - In their calendar of events, the interested party can easily find out when and in what way Petőfi is being remembered at various points in the Carpathian Basin.

On behalf of the Hungarian Culture Foundation, the Petőfi Cultural Agency Nonprofit Zrt. announces an open tender. With the Petőfi Cloud Project, we commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of the legendary poet, patriot and revolutionary, and pay our respects to his literary work.

The purpose of the competition - in addition to celebrating the poetry of Sándor Petőfi - is to support the creation and performance of new, Hungarian-language songs of any musical style (except classical music) that contain the verbatim part of the poem written by Sándor Petőfi (minimum four lines) in the given list. or contain its full text.

According to Demeter Szilárd, the general director of the Petőfi Literary Museum:

From Mór Jókai's reporting, we know that on March 15, 1848, Sándor Petőfi recited the National Anthem several times, but by the evening they had already composed a melody for it, and it was already sung in the theater that evening. We also know that many of Petőfi's poems were known as songs, even without knowing who wrote the "lyrics". I would be happy if we could find a way back to poetry that can be recited and sung, it would make the world a better place. That is why the Petőfi cloud tender is important to us.

Creative support in the amount of HUF 600,000 gross can be requested for one song in one tender.

An individual can receive a subsidy for a maximum of three songs in the gross value of HUF 1,800,000.

Applicants can process their chosen poem in two ways:

At least four lines of the poem must appear in the song, for which the songwriter(s) and lyricist(s) write additional texts. The quote(s) must contain the excerpt from Sándor Petőfi's poem verbatim.

The entire poem is set to music.

Applications can be submitted by individuals from Hungary or the Highlands, Transcarpathia, Transylvania, Southern Region, Croatia, Slovenia who claim to be Hungarian, who have reached the age of 18 at the time of submitting the application, who have been active in the music industry for at least one year prior to the publication of the call, are members of a music group or an independent performer, and can prove that at least one piece of music with an ISRC code was published at least one year before the announcement of the call.
