Petra Aczél, linguist, communication researcher and president of the public media's Montágh Board, spoke about the decisive role of communication at home and within the family in the Duna Család-barát program. He emphasized that it is also possible to talk about the problems present in the parents' lives, and suggested that we avoid overly general questions when talking to children.

Care should be taken not to limit the topics of conversations with the child. It is not only the quality of communication that is decisive, or how much we expect our children to agree with us, but also how wide the range of topics is - said Petra Aczél, who since the beginning of the year has been the president of the public media's Montágh Board, which monitors the language use of public media presenters, oversees its communications, thus performing a unique job on the Hungarian media market.

He also emphasized that adults can talk about their own problems with children. "Don't leave your problems on the doorstep. It's okay if a child also sees what the world of work means, or a possible illness in the family" .

In the Family-friendly studio, he spoke about a "why period" experienced by children at a certain age.

"The why question is a very important source of intelligence. It is essential that we have time to answer him so that he remains interested. Don't become a person who finds it difficult to deal with conflicts because you haven't learned how to think through multiple points of view, or you don't have the ability to answer and ask questions," Petra Aczél said in the program.

He also mentioned that when parents want to know what happened to their child that day, they should avoid the general "what happened to you at school today" and instead try to ask about specifics.

The entire conversation can be rewatched on the show's Media Click page , where previous broadcasts of Család-barát
