Despite the fact that Gergely Karácsony spent hundreds of millions more than planned on the renovation of Blaha Lujza tér, it seems that they once again put out the eyes of Budapest residents with a lot of work. The stone pavement, which had become an accident hazard, came off again, and the square had to be repaired again - but even now the paving stones are sticking out here and there, and the Blahá is starting to be overwhelmed by dirt and filth again...

Gergely Karácsony Blahá was handed over just three months ago, after a redesign, with delays and with hundreds of millions of extra costs compared to previous plans , but it was revealed again: the Town Hall took over a dilettante job from the contractor.

The cobblestones have already come off again, and the paint has come off the street furniture. It's not easy to sit down, the bird droppings are not washed away...

The paving stone had to be repaired once last year

Last fall, surface defects , cracks and spalling were already noticed in the areas temporarily given over to pedestrian traffic. At that time, according to the BKK, the technical inspector, the contractor and the paving stone manufacturing company jointly examined the load capacity and wear resistance of the laid paving stones. At that time, the manufacturer subjected the material of the paving stones to a laboratory test. It turned out that some parts already need to be replaced. Thus, by the time Blahá was handed over in December, these works had already been completed. It seems that now the same error has been repeated.

The paving stone has now been repaired again - but it's not perfect, we'll show you what Blaha, which is getting dirtier again, looks like now...

The dislodged paving stones have now been repaired, but one was probably not noticed elsewhere... Perhaps the workers had their backs... Photo: Metropol/Sándor Bánkúti

Blah doodling table

Within three months, the border paint had already peeled off the metal rim. It's just icing on the cake that they didn't re-glaze the table top. They thought: this is good too... Photo: Metropol/Sándor Bánkúti

It would be better if they cleaned more often. Nobody likes to sit on these "multifunctional stones" Photo: Metropol/Sándor Bánkúti
