According to János Bóka, Hungary can get access to the recovery funds in the third quarter of this year, Világgazdaság wrote on Thursday.
Hungary is close to reaching an agreement with the European Union, thanks to which
it could access the €28 billion in funds that have been blocked due to concerns about the rule of law.The newspaper reported that according to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's EU representative János Bóka, the EU's executive branch will respond to Hungarian proposals related to key judicial reforms early next week. If approved, they can be ratified by the Hungarian parliament in mid-April, and
in the second half of this year, 5.8 billion euros may be released from the EU's epidemic recovery plan."We are very close to the agreement," said Bóka in an interview with Bloomberg.
"We don't see any open political issues"
he added.
