The fact that the European Parliament (EP) continues to push for the same non-working solutions regarding illegal immigration as before only prolongs the migration crisis, said Balázs Hidvéghi, a member of the European Parliament (EP) of Fidesz, on Kossuth radio on Sunday.

The politician emphasized that for eight years, since the beginning of the migration crisis, the EP position has been pushing for the same non-working solutions: distribution and the determination that those arriving in Europe must be accommodated by different member states. He noted that a state of emergency has been declared in Italy because of the unsustainable situation, because three to four times as many people are coming to Italian shores via the Mediterranean Sea than a year before.

Balázs Hidvéghi , the real solution, the beginning of the reduction of human trafficking and illegal entry attempts, would be if the emphasis were placed on border protection, and the basic principle would finally be established that

you cannot come to the European Union (EU) illegally, in a way that violates the law, and if someone arrives in this way, they will be transported back to where they started.

...This should be fixed, but the pro-immigration part of the EP does not think so and continues to push for bad solutions. Also with the votes of the Hungarian left-wing MEPs, who did not say no to these proposals during Thursday's voting.

Manfred Weber , the president of the European People's Party, in response to the statement about the construction of border fences, said, "Manfred Weber has already said a lot in recent years, he is more of a maneuvering type of politician and now he feels that the wind of the times demands that he also now turn around and start talking about border protection and fences. (See our article: Has Manfred Weber Finally Awoken? )

He previously attacked Hungary and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for his decisions to strengthen border protection... There is some kind of movement, and this is to be welcomed, but at the same time, the parliamentary position that was adopted does not say this and continues to put the emphasis in the wrong place.

He stated:

not taking our own laws and rules seriously only prolongs the migration crisis. If we don't observe and enforce it, we can't expect it to end, since it will be exploited by immigrants, most of whom are not refugees, but simply economic immigrants.

Immigrants take advantage of Europe's weakness and, in cooperation with people smugglers and the NGOs that often help them, arrive en masse in Europe in violation of the law.

He pointed out: this is the problem, which they are unfortunately still far from solving.

In connection with the case related to the travels of several officials of the European Commission, he spoke about: this is another proof that there is systemic corruption in Brussels.

"We have said this from the beginning.
It is not that one or two representatives stumbled, gave in to temptation and accepted bribe money, but that it is increasingly visible: the entire political decision-making process in Brussels has become corrupt, said Balázs Hidvéghi, according to whom the sign of this is that a they abuse their power on a number of issues, for example

they are waging a campaign of political revenge against Hungary and Poland, blackmailing and threatening.

"It is unsustainable that European officials come to negotiations with serious stakes so that the other side pays for their travel and hotel," he stated, then pointed out that it is not possible to negotiate and take a position in this way impartially and objectively. According to Balázs Hidvéghi, this is a "school example" of bribery, and it seems that many officials of the European Commission were part of it.

As Tamás Deutsch, a member of the European Parliament of Fidesz, said earlier, the entire swamp needs to be drained. A comprehensive change is needed, because this is not sustainable and is not worthy of people's trust, he declared.

Balázs Hidvégi highlighted: a "snap answer" can be given to this in the 2024 EP elections. Then we need to answer the problems and these systemic abuses that we are experiencing, he said.

Regarding the Luxembourg Prime Minister's criticism, he said: A sharp attack has been launched against Hungary, and the child protection law is one of the culmination of this. This is where the biggest clashes can be expected, he added, then noted that a lawsuit is also underway, and several countries have lined up against Hungary.

Balázs Hidvéghi said:

they are trying to frame this law as if it is directed against people of other sexual orientations, when it is about protecting children and protecting the right of parents to raise them. These attacks must be stopped and rejected.

The politician also pointed out that the "anti-Hungarian outburst" was committed not only by the Prime Minister of Luxembourg in the EP debate this week, but by Katalin Cseh (Momentum) and Márton Gyöngyösi (Jobbik), who indulged in "quite amazing and unfair, deceitful" attacks against the Hungarian government's position and the Hungarian peace proposals.
