Samuel Brinton, a former Biden administration official who was fired last year after being charged with grand larceny for trying to steal luggage from an airport, according to a new report, was arrested this week as a "fugitive."

Brinton, who identifies as non-binary and was appointed as the Biden administration's nuclear waste official in what was widely considered a landmark achievement for the LGBT community, was arrested in Maryland on Wednesday.

A neighbor of Brinton's told the Daily Wire that “four unmarked police officers showed up last night, they wouldn't let her husband Kevin go. After about an hour, Sam Brinton was escorted out in handcuffs."

Brinton was accused last year of stealing a woman's luggage at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, in July 2022. The disgraced former Biden administration official was charged with grand larceny for stealing property worth between $1,200 and $5,000.

Last month, Brinton pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from that incident and was ordered to pay restitution to the woman and serve a 180-day suspended jail sentence.

Brinton will now appear for a hearing before Judge Victor Del Pino on Thursday afternoon, the Daily Wire reports.

Brinton was known in the press for wearing women's clothes to be a man.
