While Momentum, according to the surveys and even the left-wing parties, continues to break the cordon by force, Ferenc Gyurcsány prefers to invite sympathizers across the country to rally. "DK is more than a party. The DK creates a community," says the fallen prime minister, whose wife, Klára Dobrev, has been on a nationwide campaign tour since February.

In the much-talked-about DK-Momentum competition, the two parties are trying to appeal to opposition sympathizers with spectacularly different campaign strategies.

This weekend in 24 places in the country, we are holding May Day parties or, more precisely, family days. Life is not just about politics. It's simply good to be together, play, have fun, talk about family and everyday life

Ferenc Gyurcsány announced on his social media page, adding that they obviously cannot escape their skin, so anyone who wants to can play politics with them at events.

"DK is more than a party. DK creates a community. Local communities of well-intentioned, open-minded people. That's why we're holding majális all over the country this weekend," said the fallen prime minister, indicating that it will be possible to meet him at several locations.

In the meantime, Momentum continues its series of violent actions at Carmelita with the battle cry of "breaking the cordon system", "as long as the cordon stands, we have work to do".

They are doing this despite the fact that, according to the latest survey by Závecz, who can hardly be accused of being pro-government, the party has not been able to increase its support in the last three months, and it is just at the threshold of the parliament, at five percent - that is, the breaking of the cordon proved to be a complete failure.

At the same time, it is no coincidence that, based on the same survey, a slightly increasing trend can be observed on the entire left only in the DK, so the Gyurcsány Ferencs currently stand at 13 percent.

But it's not only opinion polls that disprove the correctness of Momentum's violent campaign strategy.

Ander Balázs, the vice president of Jobbik, also called the breaking of the cordon self-serving, counterproductive antics, which takes the focus away from the teachers. A similar opinion was expressed by Péter Ungár, who said that "the desire of some opposition actors to get into the newspaper simply has nothing to do with teachers earning more".

As the co-chairman of the LMP put it, this is not representation, but selfishness, and "I am sure that the majority of the opposition voters expect a little less histrionics, revolutionary play, and self-aggrandizement from us."

According to Tibor Attila Nagy, Momentum's violent actions have no political benefit either. "Viktor Orbán will hardly fail because of the cordon breaking," said the left-wing political scientist, who also believes that Momentum is unsuccessfully trying to show strength in the competition on the opposition side. Tibor Attila Nagy emphasized: it is not for nothing that the DK is not there for the cordon breaking, which prefers to write a government program for the fall, and it is not in their interest to participate in street actions.

Meanwhile, yesterday the DK held a public farewell in memory of the recently deceased István Vágó in the Szent István park. Ferenc Gyurcsány and István Verebes gave speeches at the event, in addition to the leading politicians of the DK, mayor Gergely Karácsony and Mátyás Eörsi, one of the founders of the SZDSZ, were also visible among those present.
