In a letter, Pope Francis thanked András Veres, the president of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference, the Hungarian priests, monks and nuns, as well as ecclesiastical and lay helpers for the love and helpful goodwill he experienced during his visit to Hungary. MKPK has published the Hungarian translation of the papal message, which you can read below.

"Your Highness and Most Reverend

Dr. András Veres

to the President of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference

and to my dear Bishop Brothers

Returning from my apostolic trip, I would like to thank you for all the great love with which you welcomed me in Hungary and for making every effort to make this trip possible.

I hope that this painstaking work, in addition to your daily pastoral service, will bear abundant fruit. I ask you with brotherly love to always maintain peace and unity among yourselves.

I express my gratitude to the priests, monks and nuns, as well as to the laity who generously and diligently offered their services and actively participated in the arduous work of preparing the trip. I hope that this contributes to all of you growing in faith in Jesus Christ, in the joy of belonging to the Holy Mother Church, and in the missionary spirit.

I assure you of my prayers and ask you to do the same for me. May the Lord Jesus bless you and may the Holy Virgin, the Mother of Hungarians, protect you.

With fraternal greetings,

Francis"
