Announcement of Internship Program of the Brussels Representation of the Foundation for Civil Hungary - Fall 2023

The purpose of the program:
To acquaint young people who embrace civic, national and Christian values ​​and are active in public life with the domestic and international operations and European professional work of the party foundation of the Fidesz – Hungarian Civil Alliance, the Civic Foundation for Hungary, and through this with public life in Brussels. The program offers the opportunity to gain experience at the only Brussels think tank in the Central and Eastern European region, at the Brussels representation of our foundation.

Duration of the program:
The duration of the program is 2 months, which means full-time employment. The scholarship holder completes this period of 1-1 month at our Foundation's Representative Office in Brussels, and in the European Parliament under the mentoring of a member of the European Parliament of the Fidesz - Hungarian Civil Alliance. Before the trip (between August 20 and 31, at a time agreed with the participants), the Foundation organizes a 3-day preparatory program for the scholarship recipients, in which participation is mandatory.

Application conditions:
• European Union (or EEA) citizenship;
• completed higher education studies or at least 4 completed semesters in higher education;
• Born after January 1, 1994;
• Hungarian forint-based bank account number;
• basic knowledge of the functioning of the European Union and its main institutions;
• high-level written and spoken knowledge of Hungarian and English (at least level B2). (Further relevant knowledge of a foreign language is an advantage.)

It is possible to apply by submitting the following documents simultaneously electronically:
• fully completed and signed application form and data management declaration;
• textbook, master sheet extract or certificate issued and signed by the university/college;
or a photocopy of a diploma already obtained (if the applicant has one); • document certifying language skills;
• a professional resume with a photo in Hungarian;
• motivational letter in Hungarian (max. 2500 characters in length);
• 2 letters of recommendation in Hungarian (recommendation from an educator and a public figure);
• an analysis of the specific policy issue specified by the advertiser in English (in a clear, readable style, max. 2,500 characters (without spaces));

In the applicant's letter of motivation, indicate the most suitable period from the following:
◦ September 2023 - October 2023
◦ November 2023 - December 2023
The preferred period can be overridden by the program organizer.

The optional topics of the policy essay (one must be chosen):
1. The dangers of geopolitical blockade for Europe
2. Green mobility - where is tomorrow's automotive industry headed?
3. Right-wing and left-wing visions of the future of the European Union

What we offer in the program:
• participation in European Parliament committee meetings, hearings, events of various think tanks in Brussels, and background discussions;
• participation in the daily activities of the representation;
• getting to know other Hungarian organizations in Brussels, the functioning of the European Parliament and the work of diplomatic missions;
• opportunity to get involved in the work of the representatives of the European Parliament of Fidesz-KDNP;
• possibility of publication and presentation;
• participation in the alumni network, for future employment opportunities in Brussels and invitations to private events;
• in addition to the two-month subsidized period, there may be mandatory programs on a monthly basis during the entire period of the internship program;
• scholarship: HUF 900,000 in total;
• provision of housing in Brussels organized by the Foundation (the amount of the deposit is borne by the scholarship recipient).
