Anna fell into rural life as a city girl, but found a balance between self-expression and work.

Anna Szép was born in Transylvania, after the system change, her parents worked hard to give her and her sister a better life. For most of the time, the grandfather looked after them, he gave them breakfast, he took the children to kindergarten and school, he told them stories and taught them folk songs.

"I loved. I was twelve years old when he died, and by the time I was thirteen I was starting to turn gray. At first I really hated it because I was afraid of getting old, but my mom didn't want to hear about dyeing my hair because she thought I was too young for it - in retrospect I agree with her. Anyway, by the time we got to the point where he would have allowed me to paint it, I didn't want to because I loved it the way it was. My partner accepts me as such, and I don't think anything else matters. This is how I am naturally myself," he said in a TikTok video.

The farm

Anna fell into rural life as a city girl, but found a balance between self-expression and work. She and her partner, Dávid, live in love and harmony in their yurt built on Remény Farm in Bekölce. Anna gave up her life in the big city and her career as a fashion designer, and Ádám gave up his IT career so that they could live on the farm, but they don't regret it one bit.

"After I met Dávid, I moved to the farm 100 percent out of love. I couldn't have imagined this lifestyle before, because it was so far from me, I was a complete city girl. The first year was really difficult, but after that I fell in love with the lifestyle and the atmosphere. I was captivated by the calm, the silence, this rhythm of life"

says Anna.

It has always been important for her to live her femininity. However, during the first months spent on the farm, she hid her pretty pieces deep in her closet and only wore a sweatshirt and a T-shirt.

It took me a narrow semester before I realized overnight that this filled me with terrible sadness. I really missed being able to live myself in my appearance as well. And really overnight, I threw away the macinacs, and my old skirts, aprons and headscarves from my folk dancing past came out - said Anna, who is weeding or cutting chickens in folk costume.

He added that folk culture has long been close to him. When she was still living in Nagyvárad, there were times when she wore folk or folk-inspired clothes, but she could not live out her practical side at performances. He saw the entire folk culture and costumes in a new light by including them in his everyday life.
