Several Romanian politicians liked the businessman's dishonoring words, and the mayor was hardened.
Dominic Fritz, the mayor of Timișoara, filed a complaint with the National Anti-Discrimination Council and threatened to sue after a local businessman called him a "leprous Nazi kid" in a video posted on Facebook.
The leader of the Bega party complained that the "words" of the former rugby player were liked by several public figures and politicians, including Titi Stoica of the AUR, Cosmin Șandru of the National-Liberal Party (PSD) and Ion Ardeal Ieremia, the former Secretary of State for Culture of the Social Democratic Party (PSD).
The comments were also offensive, and Fritz declared: regardless of who the target is, he will not allow such style of speech to become normal in Timișoara.
He emphasized: In Romania, every second student is threatened, humiliated or violent, and he is responsible for them just as he is for adults who are victims of abuse.
"I will not allow myself to be intimidated either by Dan Dinu or by other violent people who agree with similar racist, vulgar, violent, anti-European and anti-Timisoara speech"
he said.
The mayor will file a complaint with the anti-discrimination council because of what happened, and he also put forward the prospect of suing Dan Dinu and the people who shared his post.
The entrepreneur later responded by saying that he would neither retract nor change his statement.
The Temesvár press pointed out that the relationship between Dinu and the local government has been hostile for a long time.
