Youhuu, the rackajuh, the mascot of the Budapest World Athletics Championships starting on August 19, was introduced, and according to the organizers, it will provide visitors to the competition with an experience of a lifetime.

Youhuu's itself will be a miracle as well as the entire World Cup, which awaits us here in 15 days," said Balázs Németh, CEO of Budapest 2023 Zrt., at the press event on Friday, then added: "Being with Youhuu is an experience, and I want that , if 400,000 people could experience it here, on the spot: to see him, to applaud the master of fun, to laugh with him, is a huge experience, and perhaps it is not an exaggeration to say that it is an experience of a lifetime".

Balázs Németh put it this way: the mascot will play a key role in making the "world's most entertaining World Cup ever" take place in Budapest between August 19 and 27, and several musicians, stuntmen, attractions and games will also contribute to this.

"For this to be the best World Cup, we need such a beautiful facility, 400,000 fans, athletes with amazing skills and a great atmosphere, which will be created by Youhuu, the rackajuh, who is extremely entertaining and captivating," Schmidt said. Together with State Secretary for Sports Ádám and Balázs Németh, the mascot was invited to the National Athletic Center, which entered the track with the MATE-GEAC young athletes and gave a taste of its "naughty nature".

"My first really defining memory is of Hero, the hedgehog, who was not just a waving mascot, a passive participant in the sporting event, but a real star, a show element and a character with a personality, and he fundamentally determined the dynamics of the World Cup and the mood of the fans" - Balázs Baji revived his memories of the 2017 World Championships in London, where he won a bronze medal in the 110-meter hurdles.

"The mascot has a very difficult and very important role, and in some small moments it can make the experience of the World Cup even more decisive and memorable for the viewers: for example, at the finish line, at the moment of a world championship medal, it appears and in a good sense takes advantage of this moment, and in this Youhuu completely professional", emphasized Balázs Baji, who also revealed that August 20 promises to be one of the most promising days, on which he is very confident in the success of hammer thrower Bence Halász, but there is no day he would not like to watch, as every day will be a Hungarian athlete support.

The World Cup in Budapest, which will be the biggest sporting event in Hungary's history, will be held in the National Athletic Center and in Hősök square, which hosts street running and walking competitions.
