On Saturday, the Székely and Hungarian veterans who performed military service at the border during the First and Second World Wars will be commemorated at the Úzvölgy military cemetery.
In preparation for the event, the cemetery was tidied up: the grass was mowed, the cemetery was cleaned and the Romanian flags planted by the activists of the Nation's Road (Calea Neamului) organization were removed.
Sándor Birtalan, the mayor of Csíkszentmárton, told Transylvanian Hungarian Television that on Saturday, August 26, at 12:00 noon, the heroes buried there will be remembered with a camp mass and wreath-laying.
"just as we have done in the past decades, cherishing the memory of the heroes who fell for their country here in Úzvölgye".
The Csíkszentmárton municipality, which owns the ownership of the cemetery, considers cemetery maintenance and commemoration to be important. The Hargita County Council also took part in the organization of the commemoration. Violating both the laws and the cemetery regulations, the activists of the ultra-nationalist organization Calea Neamului recently disturbed the peace of the cemetery, so the care of the grave garden became even more important.

"our heroes deserve peace, respect, finality, the right to pardon".
He added: accordingly, they are preparing for the commemoration in a dignified way, for which free bus services will also be started.
One bus leaves from Csíkszereda, the bus stop in front of the Kaufland department store, at 8 a.m. on Saturday, and the other from Csíkszentmárton. After the ceremony, which starts at 12 noon, the organizers invite the participants to lunch.

At the same time, the Hargita County Council, the RMDSZ Csík Territory Organization and the municipality of Csíkszentmárton draw the attention of motorists to the fact that those who are traveling to the commemoration in Úzvölgy on Saturday with room in their car and will be taking others, should notify [email protected ] at the Csík Territory Organization of the RMDSZ or at the municipality of Csíkszentmárton. Those who would like to join others in order to go to the commemoration are also invited to write their request to one of the above-mentioned contacts.
Motorists provide the exact information when applying: where they are leaving from and when they arrive in the center of Csíkszereda or Csíkszentmárton. And the organizers will help you make contact and organize the trip so that as many people as possible can be present at the Saturday event. The road is easy to walk in the direction of the military cemetery, an asphalted road leads to it, and the paved road from Egerszék to Úzvölgy, added the press office of the Hargita County Council.

Every year on August 26, the Székely border guards who died in World War I and II are remembered at the Úzvölgy International Military Cemetery. During World War II, they performed military service at the border against enemy troops.

9.00 – Departure from the Rugát roof;
10.00 – Blessing of the Military Cross in Aklos;
12.00 – Commemoration at the military cemetery: Sándor Birtalan, mayor of Csíkszentmárton, gives a speech;
the priest Zsolt Kovács holds the camp mass, the reformed pastor Szilárd Szatmári and the Unitarian deacon Alpár Solymosi say a prayer;
wreath laying;
the Poszogó brass band participates.
After the ceremony, the organizers welcome the participants to a warm lunch in the yard of the public house opposite the cemetery.
